Question:
Dear Mr Mayor,
I have been walking in the evening around the north lake / South lake area by hope chapel Road and the lighting at North lake Drive from hope chapel going toward Curtis is very bad, hardly any lighting.
Would you be able to talk to someone regarding adding more lighting to make the streets safer?
Thank you
A Lakewood Resident.
Response from Mayor Coles:
Thanks for writing
I will have engineering work with JCPL to get additional lights here.

Question:
Hi Mayor Coles,
Thank you for the many road improvements and added sidewalks throughout Lakewood, it is a tremendous help.
However, for those of us in the Drake road area there is no sidewalks and it is very dangerous to walk during the week.
There is a proposed county park site at Drake and Neiman which needs sidewalk, additionally, from Drake road until James street there is very little sidewalk and much of it is next to the forest on a windy road and a very dangerous part to walk.
Will the township be adding sidewalks here?
Response from Mayor Coles:
Thank you for bringing this up.
We received several requests for this area. Due to drainage and curbing that needs to be installed for permanent sidewalks, we cannot do concrete walks at this time.
However, we are going to put down an HMA (Asphalt) path, like we have in other areas of town. This will make sure our residents have a safe way to navigate the street until the final work is done.
Thanks
Ray
Thank you.
Question:
Hi Mr Mayor,
What is the story with widening Cross St from Lakewood New Egypt Rd until Prospect St.
We really cannot wait any longer.
A second lane must be added in both directions. There is plenty of room on both sides to widen the street.
When will this be done?
The traffic is really out of hand on this part of Cross every day!
Thank you!!
Response from Mayor Coles:
I agree with you. This is a county road and a county project. We are grateful for the work that has been done and are anxious for the remaining parts to be started. We speak with the county regularly to urge them to do what they can to speed the process along.
