The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Hey Mayor
Driving down Hope Chapel from County line when making a left turn onto south lake dr the traffic when first turns green has a green turning signal.
Then the opposing light has a green light.
When their light turns red it still remains green for traffic headed towards Miller Rd but for cars turning left onto south lake dr there is no visible way to know that the oncoming traffic has a red light?
Is there a possible way to have the green turning signal light onto south lake dr go back back on?
Response from Mayor Coles:
This on on a county road. I forwarded your concern to the county engineer and asked them to investigate and do what they can to increase the safety at the intersection
Thanks
Ray

Does Lakewood have it’s own roads?? It’s starting to appear like every crucial infrastructure project is passed off to the state or county? The town is allowed to build endlessly but not allowed to update the critical infrastructure to support that? Something is fishy here
You just noticed that something fishy is going on with the building in this town?
To our wonderful mayor, it’s very nice that you take the time to respond to these questions however of all these projects you said were happening or approved over the last year or two don’t seem to be a reality? We keep hearing about all these things that are supposed to happen to make our town habitable again yet all we see is more building?
That’s because the North Lake and South Lake lights are switched. It is probably a simple fix to make in the system. Instead, they put a sign up on North Lake that the opposite side has continued traffic (or something like that).
