Question:
Dear Mayor,
Thank you for this opportunity.
I have several neighbors who have gotten in the habit of leaving their trash bins at the curb all week long instead of just bringing them out on Trash Day. It is ugly and smelly and detracts from my beautiful block, and sometimes even blocks the sidewalk.
These people are my friends and I don’t want to get into confrontations with them or get them in trouble.
Is there anything the township can do about this unfortunate situation so I can once again
enjoy going for a stroll around the neighborhood?
Nature Lover
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good afternoon. I have the same problem I my neighborhood occasionally. Cans are supposed to be put out no earlier than dusk the night before pick up and should be brought in the afternoon they are picked up. I will ask the Public Works Director to have our employees remind people that the cans need to be brought in the same day. Hopefully the friendly remainders will do the trick & we won’t have to issue any summonses. Please let me know if the situation continues.
Thanks,
Ray

Are we allowed to put out our bins Wednesday if our garbage pickup is Friday?… With all the 3 day Yom Tovs coming.
