Question:
Hello Mr Mayor,
Thank you for all you do for this town.
Question:
1. In the chestnut area from Evergem Ave all the way till the the beginning of Chestnut center there is no sidewalk to walk on. The grass and trees are overgrown causing to walk in the gutter where there is a curve and dangerous when cars come speeding around. I know I asked this a few years back but have not seen anything done. Can you check on this?
2. Coming out of Tiffany Lane on to chestnut can sometimes be very scary. It is hard to see if a car is coming unless you pull all the way out which can result in accidents. Mainly during the specific times of the day that cars need to be parked there when going to Shule. Is there any way to get a bubble mirror on the opposite side corner of Mountainview Drive which will show if cars are coming so we don’t have to stick out to check?
3. Lastly is there any updates of making the light longer from chestnut and rt 9 to cross and from cross to chestnut. It seems the light is very short. It takes about 1-2 seconds before the first person starts going and end up turning as its a turning and straight lane. I know there was some write up of making an additional lane but until than can we have the light a bit longer?
Looking forward to your responses.
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good morning.
I have asked Public Works to get over there and clean up the area as much as possible. If it is township right of way, we will continue to maintain it. if it is the responsibility of property owners we will inform them as well.
I will ask Traffic & Safety to look at the Tiffany Lane and make some suggestions. I’m not sure if we can install mirrors like that.
We made the request to extend the light. I will ask engineering to follow up.
Thanks
Ray
