The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Hi,
When traveling northbound on Rt 9 at the Rt 88 intersection, most people stop and do not turn right on red.
It seems that it is permitted to turn right on red at this intersection, but the sign on Rt 88 forbidding right on red onto Rt 9 is twisted in a way that it seems to be facing the RT 9 traffic causing this confusion.
Is there any way to get this sign fixed/straightened out and help a bit with the flow of traffic?
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good morning,
I asked Public Works to see if they can adjust the sign.
Thanks
Ray

Shortly after the Mayor requested Public Works to adjust the sign, Public Works released a statement assuring Lakewood residents that the matter will be taken care of promptly: “We’ve hired an Adjuster to go down there today to adjust the sign,” a spokesman for Public Works said in the statement.
The Public Works spokesman added: “The collaboration between the Mayor, the Public and Public Works to get the job done, just proves that when the Public works together, it really works.”
