The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Why is there no directional signal for left turns at the intersection of Rt. 9 and Kennedy Blvd? Traffic coming from County Line Rd. toward Rt. 9 is directed to Kennedy Blvd. for left turns, and one would expect a left-turn signal there, but there is none. Thus, the traffic piles up on Kennedy and one must wait through several red lights to make that turn during high traffic and times.
It would certainly help traffic flow and safety if there were left-turn signals there.
Response from Mayor Coles:
I agree 100%. We have repeatedly asked the state DOT to install a turn arrow at that intersection and several others. We will keep asking until they finally do the right thing.

It is a huge problem creating huge traffic backlog! Thank you Mayor Coles for your perseverance on this important issue!
TLS can you please try to limit the questions to topics that the township actually has control over? Most of the questions are answered by deflecting responsibility to other entities.
you shouldn’t be asking them – you should be demanding it. Anyone who does not implement it immediately is brainless
