The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Thankfully many roads, intersections and water pipes are getting fixed. The downside is that there’s many roads closed. Sometimes I avoid one road closure only to get stuck by another one. Is there anyway the township can publish planned road closures and times? Or even better yet, also report them (or require the contractors to report them) to popular mapping applications such as Waze and Google maps?
This would obviously only be helpful if county roads are included because that’s where the real issue lies.
Thank you
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good morning,
We always try to let folks know about road closures through Nixel Alerts & The Scoop. We will look into using Waze or Google Maps as well.
Thanks
Ray

Maybe, when there are many road closures, the timing could be staggered among different days, so that drivers don’t encounter one road closure after another on the same trip. We are happy that the work is getting done, but if we could minimize the inconvenience, that would be even better.
The reports on Nixle would be more informative if there was a daily message stating all the closures, and one email address or text where we could send live changes to traffic situations in Lakewood
Thank you
The Nixel is also only helpful if it is updated when the roads reopen.
Is New Hemisphere reopened yet from when that tree chopping truck pulled down the wires?
