Question:
Good morning.
I was wondering why the Washington sidewalk project was put on hold in middle of the job. They were doing such a fantastic job, really making headway, when they suddenly stopped 2-3 weeks ago. Are they planning on finishing up soon? Do you know what caused the delay?
Thank you very much,
A Washington area resident
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good morning
Yes, the job will be finished shortly. Due to the traffic issue created by the work, we felt it best to hold off completion for a few weeks, when many folks will be away & we can complete the job with less impact on daily commutes.

the response makes sense but traffic has eased there now and we have hundreds of kids walking and biking down that street every day to day camp in bais Kayla school . Time to get back on it its couple days work to get done.
Why are you making the street so much more narrow with the sidewalk?
Why can’t the sidewalk start after the power line poles?
