Question:
Dear Mayor
Is there any chance we can get the pot holes fixed or possibly repave east Kennedy Blvd from Madison Ave till Squankum Rd?
I know recently some parts were paved but the rest is in really bad shape
Thank you
Yitzchok
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good morning
I’ve asked our engineer to send the request to the county road department.
Thanks
Ray
Question:
Hi sorry to keep bringing this up but I find that tons and tons of traffic lights has a left turn signal. How come there can’t be a left turn signal coming from pine to River Ave
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good morning
We are working with the state to redesign the Rt 9, Pine, James Street intersection with turning lanes & better signalization
Ray
Question:
Dear Mayor,
The dead ends of New England Village are in desperate need of repaving, most notably powderhorn, brill and wayne streets.
I believe the last time they were paved was over 30 years ago!
If you can please get this done asap, that would be tremendous, as right now the entire street is made up of filled potholes.
Thank you.
Response from Mayor Coles:
I’ve asked out engineering department to inspect the site
UPDATE: NJAW is planning to run new service lines throughout this area. Once they complete this work, the streets will all be paved. Since that is still a way out, Public Works will have their crews come in and do as many repairs as possible
Thanks
Ray

is there a reason that they destroy the roads right after they finish installing them?? Massachusetts, Prospect, South LAKE, wynet just to name a few roads that were totally redone, and with in a few months they cut them open to put in new pipes, that smells like a great system!
and we suffer with all the road closures and construction traffic, anyone home??
These are the unfortunate consequences of living in an area where population growth has outpaced infrastructure growth for decades.
But these issues are also found in much less populated areas as well as heavily populated areas.
that’s a ridiculous excuse for doing things backwards, there was no surprising population explosion in 3 months, its called poor planning, its called no one really cares to keep wasting money and raising our taxes, call a spade a spade, before closing a street and inconveniencing the entire hood to repave, find out are we in need of new pipes? and if yes, pipes go first and then black top on top- rocket science!
Wouldn’t it make more sense to have a comprehensive plan for maintaining the roads rather than having the Mayor selectively respond to individuals in this public forum and address issues on a case-by-case basis? A proactive, structured approach would ensure long-term improvements rather than reactive, piecemeal solutions.
good point! its sad, that this is how the mayor finds out about issues on our roads,
