Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles responds to your ‘Ask The Mayor’ questions: Playgrounds

The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].

Thanks for what you do to better this town.

As you are well aware that there is a shortage of playgrounds in the township parks.

You putting in an amazing playground in the park by New Hampshire and locust, can we get this done by sunset park too?

Can you look into possibly making the unused baseball field at the corner of Cedar Bridge and Martin Luther into a Gorgeous playground for our children?

Thank you

Response from Mayor Coles:

I will ask Public Works to look into refurbishing the playground at Sunset.

We are currently evaluating ideas to improve the Cedarbridge Playground as well.

Thank you for reaching out

  1. ……and what about the field on Lawrence and 10th? Millions upon millions of dollars have been raised from this tiny block packed with homes together with East 9th. It only makes sense to have a playground on that empty lot!!!

  2. While on the topic the playground on school garden street. The merry go round needs to be repaired. And the triangle climbing fixture is a silly waste of room can that pleased be replaced with a usable playground equipment.

  3. And the worn out and unsafe playgrounds in pine park??. As well as the unserved south lakewood were there are almost no public parks???? Is there any planning another than reactions to “ask the mayor”?
