The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Dear Mayor Coles,
I drive at night and sometimes I’m waiting at a light for 5 minutes with no cars in in sight. Can we make more lights in town blink yellow and red like we have at a few intersections Clifton and 4th, Clifton and 2nd, Pine and Avenue of the states, and Pine and MLK?
Response from Mayor Coles:
We do have many lights in town that switch to blinking at off hours. I forwarded your list on to Traffic and Safety and will act on their recommendations.
Thanks
Ray

Williams and Prospect!
can you post the list so in case you missed some, we can suggest more.
example: the light by America Ave and New Hampshire Ave, (by Marcy’s) should be allowed to turn right on red after hours or make it yellow. i dont know if it is on the list
Prospect and Massachusetts
Anybody remember back when the light at Squankum & County Line would switch to blinking after midnight?
As they say, if you can’t beat ’em, Squankum!
Clifton/1st blinking 24 hrs. is very confusing and chaotic…if cars on Clifton have right-of-way than cars heading east/west cant ever turn!
