The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to AskTheMayor@thelakewoodscoop.com.
Question:
Can you please put a traffic light at the intersection of Cross & Prospect?
Response from Mayor Coles:
There is a new light coming to that intersection as part of the county road improvement project.
Question:
Hi Ray, is there any way you can make no parking on ridge avenue from ridge and Nowlan to ridge and manetta? There is barely any room for two cars two pass each other. If a bus passes, usually the bus or car drives on the sidewalk to get by, which is dangerous for pedestrians and causes a lot of traffic. If you cannot make no parking the whole day, can there at least be no parking every morning from 7a-10a and on Friday from 7a-1p?
Another question, can the town widen east end road at county line to add a left turning lane? There is always a backup at the intersection.
Thank you
Ray

i guess “Multiple” can mean to too!
Actually, the second part contained two questions…= 3 🙂
Dear Mayor Coles,
Often in the morning due to traffic I have a hard time getting out of my driveway.
Can you please install stop signs on either side of my house so I will be able to leave quickly?
Also, a small extra favor. Since many drivers in Lakewood see stop signs merely as a “suggestion” I’d like an LPD officer to park at my house from 6:30a-6:45a (when I usually leave) so people will obey the stop signs.
Thank you,
Moshe Mordecai Mendel M.
let me guess where you live….
I am dreading the day that the light on Cross and Prospect goes live. That light will make traffic worse.
If it’s coordinated well with the James light it may not be so bad
I agree. It doesn’t take much brains to see that the whole problem of Cross Street is James Street. Traffic backs up from James and both directions and then tends to start moving as soon as you get thru the intersection. A light on Prospect is a disaster exacerbated.
