Question:
Hi,
Every time there’s a lot of rain there is a ton of flooding on Martin Luther King Drive just off Pine Street. The flooding can last well past the entire Lakewood is dry – it’s still flooded now at 1:00pm from the rain last night. As you know, this is a terrible intersection as it is, and the flooding makes it so much worse (and also risks damaging cars). It’s also impossible for pedestrians to walk past that area. The road slopes there, so it it probably needs proper drainage to be installed or a repair of the road itself. Can you please address this?
Thank you
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good morning,
I forwarded your email to our engineering department and asked them to have our inspectors check out the area and come up with a plan to alleviate any flooding.
Thanks
Ray

I agree; this part of MLK needs proper drainage asap! Thanks for speaking up.
doesn’t the engineer know to look into this already?? why do we need to voice this openly, if every storm the area is totally flooded out, shouldn’t he know this just like everyone knows about this huge issue, perhaps he should be more involved.
Every suggestion counts. If only one or two poeple speak up, it doesn’t help as much than if numerous do.
stop being so negative, cheer up a little!
