Question:
Hello Mayor,
Thank you for this forum. I live in the spruce street area, and our neighborhood frequents Oak st school playground after school hours. It was closed for almost an entire year and recently reopened with a beautiful new playground. However, although there is a sign that says the playground is open to the public from 3pm to sunset it is more often padlocked than not. Is there anything you can do to ensure that the playground is open to all residents on weekends and after school hours?
Thanks!
Response from Mayor Coles:
Thanks for letting me know about this. We will reach out to the Board Of Education and see if we can get this resolved.
Take care
Ray

The park recently told me that he believes he’s been placed under lockdown due to the virus, but he says he’s taken all the vaccines, and that most other recreation areas have been opened up for quite some time already. So he’s wondering why the double standard when it comes to him. I didn’t know what to tell him. I feel bad for the poor park; he’s heeded all the mandates.
