Question:
Dear Mayor Coles,
Thank you for your constant hard work on behalf of our town.
We are having an issue and we are unsure how to resolve it. We are hoping you may be able to step in and help.
We recently did construction to our house and moved back to our house in November. During construction we had our electric meter moved. It took us a few months to realize that we were never getting any electric bills. As soon as we realized this, we notified JCP&L because we did not want this to one day come back and haunt us. JCP&L informed us that after our meter was moved, a new account was never created for us. We are somehow getting electricity but there is no account for us.
We have since called JCP&L many times to follow up and nothing has happened. While we would be thrilled not to have to pay electricity, we know there will be a time when we will have to pay the piper. They keep telling us not to worry and they will sign us up for a payment plan once they get our account set up. However, we have no interest in owing a ton of money and then having to set up a payment plan to pay everything off. This is just ridiculous. They don’t seem to want our money!
How can we get them to hurry things along and set up our account so that we are not left with a tremendous bill to have to pay off??
I’m hoping you have the connections we are lacking and maybe you can get the ball rolling.
Thank you
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good morning
I forwarded your email to the head of JCPL in NJ. Hopefully he will have someone reach out to you ASAP.
Please keep me in the loop.
