Question:
I attempted to sit on the wooden bench at the corner of Cedar Row and north lake drive and it’s cracked and needs to be replaced. The view is beautiful, and it’s a perfect spot for a little relaxation and for ppl who aren’t up to walking a lot. I would love u to go see the spot yourself bec it would totally resonate with you to the point where you might say, it should be replaced with 2 benches. Thanking u in advance. The weather is beautiful now, so I’m hoping I’m going to get a quick response.
Becky
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good morning,
I spoke with Public Works Director Phil Roux this morning. He will have someone check the bench Monday. They will repair it if possible. A replacement (and possibly a second bench) will take a couple weeks to come in.
Thanks for letting us know about this.
Ray
Follow-up email:
Dearest Mayor and Phil Roux,
Wow! We put in a request to benefit the residents of Ocean Country – to fix and add a second bench on Cedar Row by the walking path, and without missing a beat – the request is implemented. How lucky we are to have such a thoughtful caring compassionate Mayor and his staff. Ur also extremely efficient. On behalf of all the ppl that will now enjoy sitting on the benches and enjoying the beautiful view I would like to thank you so much. May god give u the strength and health to continue helping out so may ppl. Have a beautiful day!!

Mr. Mayor, please enlighten me a little bit because I’m a little bit confused on the bench repair/replacement issue. My question is as follows:
I know that US Presidents have the authority to change the makeup of the bench. Do Mayors also have that same power?

Lucky it wasn’t the county’s bench 😉
This whole time I thought the benches were County benches . . .
