Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles responds to your ‘Ask The Mayor’ questions: Flashing Lights

The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].

Question:

There doesn’t seem to be a lot of traffic at the light by Airport Rd and the GSP. Would it be possible to change that one to flashing?

Thank you

Response from Mayor Coles:

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I have asked engineering to look at this intersection & see if it qualifies to go to flashing for at least part of the day

Stay safe

Ray

  1. Let’s have every single traffic light in town flashing and cause a big havoc, it would be a normal day in Lakewood anyway. Don’t the engineers supposed to know how all this traffic lights are going to work at peak times and non peak hours? That’s the problem we have here, everyone is in a rush that even 30 seconds waiting at a traffic light is a problem.

  2. That traffic light is not thirty seconds Joe, it’s a long time, and when coming back from the parkway at night it’s long. The submitter is wright. Also we have pro

  3. Also we have an issue with the lights on Forest Ave. At night it takes forever to change by Kennedy and by county line, and now backup during the day, and 14th and Forest should stay green on Forest for much longer. Thanks
