Question:
Dear Mayor,
First off I would like to comment and thank you for all the visible improvements you are doing around town – it’s the small things that count! Primarily the fact that you are listening to your constituents. I have seen many roads re-paved and some sidewalks installed, even new street signs replaced.
After our taxes shot up from the re-evaluation and the fact that I choose not to utilize the public school system, this is somewhat a relief to actually have a smooth road to drive on.
Some additional areas that I may bring to your attention:
Where Airport Rd meets Cedar Bridge, instead of having a blocked medium, it can be changed into a 2nd turning lane which will flow in CB 2 lanes. See attached photo.
As mentioned in a different letter, Oak street between Albert & NH needs re-paving (every winter it is a nightmare while it cannot be patched). Thank you for Albert South! (Sidewalks on that half would be immensely appreciated;-)
It is my understanding that Avenue Of America’s and Cedar Bridge is getting a light, that is necessary, as it is not only very hard to turn but is dangerous.
Maybe the turning lane on New Hampshire North Bound to CedarBridge should be made longer AND that turning signal a bit longer during rush hour (it creates a long back up to the other lanes).
Thank you,
Dovid
Response from Mayor Coles:
Hi Dovid,
Thanks for reaching out. We have been working with the county to improve many of the intersections on Cedarbridge to add turning lanes & other safety improvements. I will pass your idea on to them.
Oak is on our list of paving projects for next year. Hopefully we will be able to get moving on it sometime in the spring.
The light at Ave. Of the America’s and Cedarbridge is under construction.
I agree 100% about extending the turning lane & light timing at New Hampshire & Cedarbridge. We have already asked the county to take action on it.
Take Care
Ray

The lights at chestnut/cross and the 9 also need to be longer
