The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Good evening Mr. Mayor,
Thank you very much for your smooth running of this great town.
I would like to up a concern to your attention.
As stated in Lakewood Township Sub-Division resolution SD# 1476, J WEI, LLC the applicant for “Regency development” was required to install a dedicated left and a dedicated right turning lane on pine Blvd. (see snip below)
Either that was never done or it likely faded away over time.
Being that it was a requirement by the Township planning board, can Lakewood Township kindly restripe it?
Thank You,
Matt
Response from Mayor Coles:
Hi Matt,
Public Works is on the case. They are locating the plans and will stripe the intersection & turn lane as soon as possible.
Thanks for letting me know about this
Ray

Does the Public Works fulfil the developers requirements, free of charge?
Pine Boulevard desperately needs to be paved, that should probably be done first before any striping.
Why did this issue have to reach this point after being completed so many years ago? Doesn’t the township hire someone to sign off on these projects and make sure that all the developer’s requirements were fulfilled?
As a 16 year resident of the Raintree area, I recall that when we moved in we were told a left turn lane was to be installed from County Line Road onto Ridge Ave. To this day, we must close our eyes and utter a prayer when turning onto Ridge. Do we have to experience loss of life (C”V) before the promise is fulfilled?
Ben Eliezer –
Who is the individual that “told you” that a left turn lane would be installed on County Line Road? Why don’t you go back to that person?
There was definitely a turning lane a couple of years back it faded over time – hence the reason most people living there know and treat it so..
@freebie The question would be why the township released the bond.. The township can get creative as there are some lots for sale I’m sure they’ll be going for some zoning changes make them pay for the turning lane – and pave the road while they’re at it!
