Question:
Connecting Lewin and Hatfield (see attached). This might help the traffic. Most of Lewin Ave is paved already.
Response from Mayor Coles:
Thank you for the suggestion. I like the idea of connecting Lewin & Hatfield and will forward it to our engineering office to see what it would take to make it happen. I know that getting permission to cross the railroad tracks is difficult but we will look into it.

Where are these streets? Doesn’t come up on google maps.
These are called “paper streets”. They are not built up yet and only exist on planning maps not your regular Google or other GPS maps. Lewin St is located off of Prospect St and is currently built up going South of Prospect St. The map posted in the article depicts Lewin St continuing on the north side of Prospect St (currently industrial buildings) and crossing over the railroad tracks and meeting Hatfield. Hatfield is another “paper street” to be built coming south off of James St. Right now Hatfield North of the tracks and Lewin South of the tracks would not meet. The letter to the mayor request that Hatfield and Lewin be connected. This would open another James/Prospect connection in addition to Williams and Cross.
There will be another opening between James and Prospect once the new development opens parallel to Williams Street. But it will only have a right in / right out on the James side.
