The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Hi Mr. Mayor,
Are there any plans in the future to improve the intersection at the 88 and Clover. If cars are making a left turn onto Clover from the 88 there is no room for another car to go around and it backs up the entire 88 and is the cause of major traffic. Also on a side note, there was a crossing guard on Linden and the 88 which definitely helped a lot! Please keep her there!
Response from Mayor Coles:
These intersections are controlled by the stare & county. I will ask Engineering to contact the county and see what plans they have for the improvement of this intersection.

It seems like every road in Lakewood belongs to the county or state, hopefully during the winter they can help us with the snow removal and we don’t have to hire the contractors and save some money that we can use somewhere else.
this forum is great except for the fact that all i know now is that the mayor will ask for an update. whether or not he gets one, or what that update is will remain a mystery.
What if the engineers say there are no plans? the intersection is a disaster!! Will the mayor use his influence and lobby for a change?
What will that change look like? Will there be a construction Freeze along Clover until the traffic is figured out?
