The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
When trying to make a left turn from Cedar Bridge (eastbound) onto Swarthmore there is no left turn signal. Left turning traffic often backs up 3 to 4 light cycles or more at busy times, causing cars to dangerously make the turn well after the light turns red out of desperation. A left turn signal is desperately needed. Thank you.
Response from Mayor Coles:
I agree with you. My business was located on Swarthmore for 25 years and I am very familiar with the situation. Unfortunately, Cedarbridge is a county road. I have raised this intersection with them many times. We will continue to press them to make the road upgrades that are so desperately needed in town.
Thanks for writing
Ray

Thank you! If it helps to press the point, this is a very common route for children headed to schools. It’s a bus and carpool safety issue as well.
