The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Thank you to the best mayor ever for everything you do!!!
My question to you is: When driving down clover st towards cedarbridge ave there are 2 lanes. The left lane is backed up like crazy while the right lane is mostly empty. Can you please allow both lanes to turn left. This would make a huge difference in the everyday (especially in the morning) traffic on clover!
Thank you so much!
Response from Mayor Coles:
This intersection is controlled by the county. They are preparing improvements to Cedarbridge in this area and we are hoping that they install allow a turn lane. We will also ask them about allowing both lanes to turn left
Thanks
Ray

Please don’t allow this. That would make all those who need to turn right wait for the light to change before turning
Think about if we allow both lanes to turn left than the cars turning right will not be able to go on red because of the one car in the front turning left clover will end up backed up way worse
Not a great idea. This will backup up the right lane, and many people who could’ve turned right on red, will not be stuck waiting behind someone that wants to turn left.
The reason the right lane is empty is bec you can turn right on red.
There are so many little improvements lakewood can make to lessen traffic.
@E.S. please share
Can someone explain to me who designed intersection of William and prospect. When you drive on Williams South coming to the light at Prospect the right lane is Right Turn Only the left lane you can make a left or you can go straight issue is that if you take a look and you’re in the left lane you are in the oncoming traffic of the opposite side of Williams coming towards you this is an accident waiting to happen why was this Design This Way anyone have any answers anytime anyone drives over there they will notice they are basically driving straight into oncoming traffic you need to veer right in order to get into the correct Lane in the oncoming Street
If.you allow that the traffic flow straight thru Cedar Bridge will cease. These decisions should only be made after a traffic study is done!!!
A left turn from Melville and Arlington onto Cedarbridge should be banned.
