Question:
Dear Mayor,
Is there an update regarding the paving of Prospect St? The road is painfully bumpy and I’ve had to repair control arms, axles and struts for the first time on both of my cars this year, which I suspect is related and cost me thousands. Please help!
Thank you,
Isaac
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good Morning,
This is a NJ American Water Project on a County road. We have contacted both organizations numerous times to get them to properly repair the road. The county engineer responded on Monday that he will alert NJAW of their responsibility to repair this road. I have asked the engineers to follow up regularly until it is done.

Dear Mayor Coles
There are many streets I drive down regularly that have cost me tires numerous times. Saint Nicholas Ave and Regent Drive. 1 is worse than the next. Regent Drive is actually a free roller coaster ride. Saint Nicholas has a pothole that u have to know how to drive around/over in order not to kill your car completely.
Hope you can get these roads taken care if very soon.
Prospect street is a complete disaster.
You literally feel like you’re driving in a 3rd world country.
Someone drove in Iraq and then came home to NJ. He said the streets of NJ are worse then Iraq’s
Especially in front of the center going east
what about park ave?
Dear Mayor Coles,
Thank you for the wonderful work you do.
I have a small favor to ask. With the current makeup of Lakewood I think “St. Nicholas Ave,” is no longer a good fit.
I’d like to suggest it be replaced with, “HaRav HaGaon Yecheil Yeruchem Zushe Getzel ben Noach HaLevi.
