Question:
Dear Mr. Mayor,
Thank you for all the good you do for the Lakewood Community. I live on 3rd street between Forest and Madison. We used to have bulk pick up on the first Wednesday of the month. They recently changed that to the first Friday of the month. However, they never come on Friday. They usually come Saturday morning. The problem is they come very early Saturday morning generally between 6:30 AM-6:45 AM. I understand when they do regular garbage pick up on a weekday and they start their day very early. However Saturday is generally a day off for most people and these bulk trucks make a lot of noise! Is there anyway to get these trucks to come either 1. On Friday when they are scheduled to come or 2. After 9:00 AM. There’s not much traffic on the roads on Saturday in Lakewood so coming after 9:00 would not cause then to run into traffic.
Thank you,
A Lakewood Resident
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good afternoon
I will speak to the Public Works Director and see if he can reroute some of the pickups away from very early mornings.
Thanks
Ray

First a bunny, now this? Some ppl just don’t have a life. If dpw don’t come and get the bulk picked up it’s a problem but when they do is a problem too. They probably dont have enough time to do it Friday and that’s why they are back Saturday plus it’s only 1 Saturday out of the month and that’s a big deal? Good thing that you don’t live in 1 of our neighboring towns where they only have bulk pick up only 2 – 3 times a year.
Or our community where we pay for garbage and separately a lot if u want bulk pickup
