The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].

Hi Mayor as a concerned resident I’m reaching out, I know it’s been ask prior about Lakewood making more Tennis and Pickleball courts but what about the upkeep of the current courts we have this video I took was in ocean county park it shows major cracks in the courts and waiting for someone to get hurt while playing Iv been playing for the last few year and the courts need to be repaired I don’t know who is responsible but hope it’s taken care of before an injury occurs.

Response from Mayor Coles:

Good morning,

Ocean County Park is a county facility. I will forward your email and video to their parks department with a note asking them to address your concerns as soon as possible.

As a follow-up, I received the following response from the county:

We are aware of the cracks in the tennis courts.  We just signed a contract to repair the tennis courts.

This issue will be addressed in the near future.

Thank you for your interest in the park(s) as well as bringing this to our attention.

Should you need any additional information please let me know.

Thanks again for writing.
