Question:
Is anyone going to put a stop to the accident solicitation and those aggressive chasers in this town? It has gotten out of hand with these people jumping into ambulances and disregard people’s personal space.
Response from Mayor Coles:
We changed the ordinance earlier this year to allow the police department to deter this behavior. I will bring it up with the chief to make sure it is prioritized.

This is an ongoing issue and it is an embarrassment to the town.

What is an accident chaser? Excuse my ignorance
I’ve never been an Ambulance chaser but I have been accused of being a professional “Rubbernecker”. I can’t help myself. When I see an accident I park where I am & go around & talk to every police, fire, & EMS worker as well as the injured (when able to talk), their families as well as any witnesses. Sometimes I claim to be the injured parties close relative so I can ride in the Ambulance blasting the diagnosis, severity & conversations with the hospital to the world.
I do this all as I’m feverishly typing the info into my numerous WhatsApp groups.
I feel I am doing a big Mitzvah. Numerous people have told me they found out about the death or serious injury of a close relative through my WhatsApp posts.
