The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Mr. Mayor,
I have lived in Lakewood for almost 12 years and been told on numerous occasions that a left turn light will be installed to allow motorists to make a left turn from East County Line onto Ridge without risking one’s life. This safety measure has still not occurred. I know these are county roads, but there must be a way of moving this along. Your thoughts please.
Concerned citizen.
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good afternoon,
I live on Ventura Drive & have been making that same turn for almost 30 years. The good news is that the county will be making improvements to the Ridge County Line intersection in the near future. A turning lane & left hand signal are high on my priority list. I have a meeting scheduled to discuss traffic issues with the county in early May. I promise to bring this up again & see if I can get a better time frame for construction.
Thanks,
Ray
