Question:
Dear Mayor Coles,
Thank you for all that you do for our town! I think it’s safe to say that Lakewood is in a constant war with potholes on our streets. Is there a way to make it really easy (like a number to text/ form on a website) to report a pothole? Most people to not have time to find out the number to call and actually speak to a live person (plus that’s a waste of resources). Perhaps if we can publicize a direct Webpage link or a number to text, we will finally gain the upper hand and be more efficient with pothole repair.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Response from Mayor Coles:
Thanks for ruining my surprise! We are just a couple of weeks away from announcing an automated system to deal with variety of issues related to Public Works. Residents will be able to use a smart phone, tablet or home computer to put in requests directly to Public Works. We hope to start out with the pot hole app shortly.
Thanks
Ray

If this actually works, it would be truly wonderful. Imagine government doing what the electorate actually needs!
