Lakewood Home Burglar Caught Red-Handed – Quite Literally

A burglar in Lakewood was caught red-handed, quite literally.

Police tell TLS they received a call early Saturday morning about a burglary at a home in Lakewood.

Upon arrival, police located a bloodied suspect who had just broken a glass window to gain access into the home, and sliced his hand badly.

Officers placed a tourniquet on the wound until he could be transported to JSUMC.

The suspect was charged with burglary and possession of a weapon – which he used to gain entry into the home.

  1. Officials on Tuesday issued a recommendation to Lakewood residents advising them to use vinyl materials for their windows to better protect home intruders from harm.
However, attorneys for the robber say they have yet to make a decision whether to sue the homeowner for using harmful glass material in his windows.
“If the medical bills are high, we’ll likely file a suit,” Richard Glassburg, an attorney for the thief told reporters. “The windows were dangerous. It seems like a pretty open-and-shut case to me.”
