A Lakewood High School student was taken into custody this afternoon after threatening another student with a knife, Detective Liutenant Steve Allaire confirms to TLS.
The suspect, 15, reportedly pulled the knife on a student during lunch time.
“A 15-year-old was arrested and charged with aggravatd assault, and possession of weapon for bringing in a knife and threatening another student,” Allaire said.
The incident had some parents concerned about the incident – especially given the fact that the metal detectors didn’t pick up on it.
“They are not sure how he got it in,” Allaire said.

The school security officers need to be told one very important aspect crucial to the metal detectors functioning properly: they need to be plugged in.
