“We have a lot of exciting things planned for this year”, a Lakewood First Aid official tells TLS. What does that mean ? More titles ?

A Treasurer, what’s that?

And why are the officer elections of any importance to the outsiders, this seems to be internal to the Lakewood First Aid?

I cant figure out why anyone would post something negative on this post. This organization is an open organization that will except 95% of all EMT who put in an application. The membership is 90% frum and all members are dedicated to our community. This upcoming year this organization will be offering a free EMT course for anyone who wants to take it as well as many other FREE educational classes for the town. The squad is available to come out to any and all schools, playgroups, and any other function for FREE. I just don’t get why people post negatively about the squad. Please explain.

Thank you!

These EMTs are lifesavers in our town. They volunteer their time, leave work and their families to fill in for the paid squad at a moments notice. They rarely get the thank you they deserve from the community and whenever anything is posted there has to be a post about hatzalah. Give these people the recognition they deserve. A lot of time and energy goes into the running of the squad, including their own fundraising. They do not get money from the township to cover their running costs.

Thank you Lakewood First Aid members!!!! Go squad 25!!!

Who is going to be instructing the courses. I checked the state website and there are no first aid members that are certified state instructors, how can you offer classes if it will not be recognized by new jersey.

I agree with #19-this just shows the negativity of some people within the community. Be grateful there are people willing to help you in a time of need and say thank you!

Shai veron is a state instructor as far as I know. He is a wonderful guy with a heart of gold!

y the negative comments ?

Did you ask them for help and you did not get it ?
Did you put in a application and they ignored you ?
Did they take some one else instead of u even though you put one in years earlier and have more experience ?

No they have a fair system and they answer all of the communities calls . Emergency situations and non . like a earlier commented they will bring a ambulance to your play group when learning the letter he’y and or first aid ..

you put in a application they have a fair system which all get read by the entire squad and if you meet or exceed the rules and you are next in line you too will get on no exceptions .

so please a little gratitude would be nice and the next time you see their envelope in the mail please send it back with a check inside .

Hey I looked it up on the NJ Dept. of Health website (njoemscert.com) who certifies EMTs and Instructors and he is not an approved instructor, he’s just certified as an EMT since 2008. Does this mean I cant get certified as an EMT if I sign up for the classes. This doesn’t sound good.

The class will be a certified class by the state and Shai will not be giving the class. As soon as the dates are set more information will be given. Upon completion of this class the potential EMT can sit for the state exam.

finally the truth. Shai and Lakewood First Aid will not being providing the course but a private company will. i can not see a company providing hundreds of hours for free which means there will be a fee attached to this training.

Future EMT

I did some checking and the course for new EMT is going to be around 200 hours now and one company fee for the course is $1200.00 plus all students are required to purchase the textbook at a cost of $105.00. I would also have to get certified in CPR which will cost about $65.00. That’s gonna cost me over $1300.00 to become trained as an EMT.

to 33, the cost of the class will be covered by the EMT training fund. The only thing not covered will be the book because the training fund doesnt cover it. The cost of the book $110.00, so for $110.00 you will get 200 hours of an education that will help you to be able to save a life.

nice !!
