A fire at Tent City left one dead this evening. The fire occurred at about 6:45 p.m this evening, and LFD and LPD responded and requested many backup units due the lack of lighting in the area. At approximately 7:10 p.m, emergency personnel discovered a man dead.

The CIU and medical examiners office arrived and closed off the perimeter, which started at the Minyan Shelanu area and stretched deep into the woods.

Officials tell TLS it is an active crime scene at this time, and no further information is available.

UPDATE:  The man who died in the fire was identified as Rev. James Wilcox.
