Lakewood EMS Member Hospitalized Following Accident in Ambulance [PHOTOS]

A Lakewood EMS member is being hospitalized this afternoon following an accident on Rt. 9.

The member was riding in the ambulance when it collided with another vehicle on River Avenue.

A patient was being transported in the ambulance at the time, but was not injured in the accident.

The EMS member sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood.

  1. The pot of gold is saving a life. If everyone would slow down and pull over when hearing siren or seeing lights it would make it a lot safer for emergency personnel.

  2. There are proper procedures to follow when driving an emergency vehicle.
    Seemingly a lot of persons around the Lakewood area are unaware.
    There are rules governing emergency personnel and all the “common” folk.
