If you live in Lakewood’s “Zone 4” – i.e. your garbage gets picked up on Thursdays – the Department of Public Works (DPW) urges you to prepare the fallen leaves outside your home promptly.
The scheduled leaf cleaning pickup this month for Zone 4 is the coming week, Monday, November 24th through Friday, November 28th. However, DPW Director Phil Roux says that crews do at times operate during weekend off-hours to a get a head start on the following week’s pickup. Therefore, it is highly advisable that all homes in the Zone have their leaved prepared by Friday afternoon.
In addition, this coming Thursday, November 27th, is Thanksgiving. Zone 4’s regular trash and recycling pickup will take place the following day, Friday, November 28th.
How to Prepare Leaves:
Leaves should be raked at the curbline, similar to where cars are parked. The leaves should be left in loose, open piles (not bagged, etc.) with no other matter (wood, brush, dirt, etc.) in the pile. Leaves should be located a minimum of 10 feet away from storm water drains.
“We would like to thank Lakewood residents for making the leaf collection process smooth and efficient,” says Director Roux. “The DPW looks forward to continue working towards making Lakewood as clean, safe and beautiful as can be.”

thank you lakewood scoop, can you please post for all zones so we’ll know when to have our leaves prepared
I believe the Scoop posted the schedule already. If TLS can publish the encompassing perimeter of each zone that would be extremely helpful. Thank You, TLS for all your important PSA’s and notifications. Chodesh Tov!
