Thought there are no storms in the forecast, the Lakewood DPW is ready for the winter.
With last year’s winter proving to be relatively mild, the Department managed to stock up on salt, fully preparing them for the storms that may come.
Director Phil Roux tells TLS the Department last December added approximately 2,000 tons of salt to the Town’s stockpile, bringing the salt stockpile total to nearly 6,000 tons.
During last year’s December cold snap, the Town only consumed approximately 400 tons of salt.
The Department’s brine used to pre-treat the roads, is prepared as needed.
In addition, Roux says, the Township once again has the private contractors on standby – as done in previous years – should Lakewood be hit with severe snow storms.
Yep! Ready for the winter, however still didn’t finish cleaning up leaves.
