  1. I didn’t find this storm overwhelming, the amount of snow we had wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. It was light and fluffy and easy to shovel. It’s the heavy wet snow that’s a real problem to dig out of.

  2. PLEASE PLEASE some one enlighten me why are all the township roads white with snow and the county roads black almost entirely cleared of snow?? if you drive on New Hampshire toward Ridge Ave when you get to the “T” at the end to your left is the township part of 7th st. its covered in snow and to the right is the County part its clear -black ??

  3. The county pre treats the roads with a salt laced liquid that causes the snow to melt when it hits the pavement. Lakewood does not have this equipment.

  4. to #4 That is possible but as a lkwd resident that lives near a county rd I see them plowing and salting continuously as soon as the snow hits, I belive that has a lot to do with it

  5. May I kindly suggest that Lakewood procure the same equipment that the county owns. I think the township receives enough tax money to service us properly.

  6. anybody see any problems with kids using a snowblower, with one helping the other push it uphill? Do these kids know what happens when the chute gets clogged, to shut off the machine and use a stick to remove the snow? How many adults have lost fingers or a limb because they did not know how to use the equipment properly? Don’t let kids use power equipment.

  7. I gottat tell you I almost ran into a stop sign on Spruce st. this evening. Totally treacherous out there. And Birch street, as usual, is a nightmare. When’s the next warm day in the forecast… I’m looking forward to seeing my streets again. Be careful, out there.

  8. i live on a county road and the county road was not at all salted before the storm, nor was it plowed very well. As soon as the street turns into a township road, it’s easy driving again.

  9. Its 2 days after the storm my street was plowed once Tues night about midnite and haven’t seen a plow since. Why arent they out there spreading sand or salt? Its too cold theres no other way to get rid of this stuff.

  10. Just came up my street off James it’s a mess half plowed but reason for this is if you look at it cars and garbage cans were not taken off street so plows had to go around them making road a total mess. Not the plows or towns fault Stop complaining and do as you were ask. Cars in driveways cans off street Another storm predicted for Sat. Follow the rules!!!
