The highly anticipated 93rd annual dinner of Agudath Israel of America will take place Sunday, May 10th, at the Hilton New York.
Lakewood Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller will be among the community activists from across the region who will receive awards at the dinner. He will honored with the “William K. Friedman Leadership Award.”
Deputy Mayor Miller has a long record of distinguished public service. He serves as a chaplain for the United States Air Force Reserves. Rabbi Miller has served two tours of duty overseas – in Iraq and Qatar – and has earned the rank of “Major.” In this position, he has taken advantage of a special opportunity to serve our country, offer support to our Jewish brethren in uniform, and make a
kiddush Hashem among the troops and military officials from around the country. A genuine ben Torah,raised by a prestigious Lakewood Torah family, Rabbi Miller has served the Lakewood community in the governmental sphere for over a decade.
First elected to the Lakewood Township Committee in 2003, Rabbi Miller has earned the respect of a cross section of Lakewood communities, as well as his peers in government. He was elected Mayor and served two terms as mayor before assuming his current position as deputy mayor.Throughout his tenure in government, Rabbi Miller has amassed an untold number of accomplishments for Lakewood’s fast growing Orthodox community. His influence and actions have borne fruit both on major community issues, as well as on an individual constituent basis.
