In a private gathering with 200+ here in Lakewood, zoom members of Lakewood Daf Yomi Chaburah delivered by R’ Sruly Bornstein got together for an evening of Chizuk.
The event, arranged by R’ Michal Rokowsky (Monsey) for the live (in-person) and zoom members of the chaburah, marked the halfway point of Shas.
The Chevra took the opportunity to connect with each other in-person, as members came in from as far as Texas, Montreal, New Hampshire, and Baltimore.
At the event, the members presented R’ Sruly with a gift, a rare volume of a Gemarah published in Vilna in 1891. It was one of the 130 Seforim that have surfaced of over 80,000 lost during the war.
The Gemarah included lengthy handwritten notes by the Gaon Rabbi Aryeh Zvi Frumer of Kozhiglov HY’D, one of the Geonim of Poland, and whose Divrei Torah been spoken about many times in the Shiur of the years.
In addition, the Gemarah included an ownership signature of the Aryeh Sha’ag of Zmigrod, and stamp of the acclaimed library of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin.
