Lakewood Apartments Hit by Gunshots in Apparent Drive-by Shooting

crime scene investigationAuthorities this morning were on scene investigating an apparent drive-by shooting at an apartment on Joe Parker Road, sources tell TLS.

The shooting occurred at the Gulf-view Apartment Complex on Joe Parker Rd at around 3:20 AM Thursday morning.

Sources say that two apartment units were hit by bullets. There were occupants in the home at the time who were not hit or injured during the incident. However, the occupants were able to provide police of a possible suspect and vehicle description.

Police searched the area of the apartments and reportedly found multiple bullet casings.

Shortly after 4:00AM, Police were searching for a Chevy Malibu which was reportedly connected with the shooting and surrounding towns were notified of the incident.

Brick Police stopped a vehicle with three black males and contacted Lakewood Police to identify the males, they were taken into question a source tells TLS.

CSI is investigating the incident.

  1. the problem is that it is so easy to purchase a gun { you can even buy one online probably with no questions asked } it is so out of hand that you dont even know about the person sitting next to you on the bus: he might be carrying a knife or a gun. its really very scarey. to Jason; so now its not just camden newark or patterson unfortunetely it can bee anywhere

  2. As the population increases at huge levels, crime levels will continue to rise. It’s just par for the course. Densely populated towns and cities have higher crime rates.
