With hundreds of residents flocking to 7-11 for a small free slurpee, 7-11 ran out of free slurpees by the early afternoon, according to 7-11 goers. One customer who went to get a free slurpee tells TLS the store had to repeatedly shut its doors due to the overflow crowd inside the store.
Last year, 7-11 in Lakewood said they gave away 200 of the 7 oz. slurpees in honor of ‘7/11’. It’s unknown how many were given away this year.
The value of the free giveaway is approximately $1. TLS-00/TLS-CCP.
They could have made more
yes they could have and did make more but 7/11 corp. gives them x amount of cups and that is all they are reequred to serve.
Now I know they gave out WAY more than 200 slurpies (I would say around 2000 slurpies).
they had to tell kids who were going in for 2 3 or even 4 times that it is only 1 per person. (but you know how families here can be, I need 15 slurpees for all the kids in the family.
Give them a break they did the best that they could do & went well beyond what they needed to do. You could have gone to jackson or brick like I used to do, but I know that would have inconvienced you.
B’Chukosayhem Lo Saylaichu. Nu, Nu… So someone didnt get a free slurpie… Before and after it was free do/did you even know or care what it is?
He came from India and decided to open in the heart of Lakewood because he knows its the highest concentration of slurpee consumers of any area code in the United States.Yet does nothing to show his appreciation to his unique client base.
Cheap….cheap…..cheap…
happens every year here in Monsey.
i cant believe this is even news. it almost screams “greedy”.
I hope they are fully restocked before the Ssss shiur tonight!
Personally I wish they’d stop this promotion.
Nevert look a gift horse in the mouth, Say thank you for the free stuff, and understand that there is not an unlimited supply.
7/11 needs to mark the hands of patrons that have received a free Slurpee, to maximum the number of patrons that can have one Slurpee, compliments of 7/11.
People are so amazing…
They rush like lunatics to get $1 worth of free sugar water and yet people make fun of me for using coupons in the grocery store, which saves me over $400 a month!
They only ran out of free slurpees?
At least some people were saved from eating treif.
I stopped buying Slurpies after seeing – numerous times – people accidentally buying the treif flavors.
7-11 is owned by a Japanese Company, Japan has the most 7-11 stores in the world but slurpees were banned long time ago. Why? well 1 out of 5 americans are over weight. Hmmmmm
The kids who took multiples left rest of family in store so as not to clog up.
Also, go to any city and the 7-11s were jam packed. Don’t make this article that Lakewoods different.
Cmon, every kid loves a free slurpee 🙂
Dont forget to report this as income on your tax return!
Next time 7-11 runs out of slurpees just call chaverim. Im sure they can help out with the situation.
Please explain how going to 711 is included in bechukosayem lo salaychu etc.
I went to a 7-11 out of LKWD yesterday- lines out the door!! They allowed people into the store in shifts. Later, i was passing the 7-11 in Lakewood – which had a trickle of customers in and out – but was barely a crowd in comparison
