The following was submitted to TLS by the LAC: Dear Friend, After much research, interviews and discussion, the LAC and other askonim in town have come to the decision to endorse Larry Loigman and Juan Ortiz for Fire Commissioner. Larry Loigman is someone who has a record of standing up for the values and rights of Orthodox Jewry throughout the state of NJ and beyond. He will be our eyes and ears on the Fire Commission to reign in the annual runaway budgets that have been all too common over the last decade. In fact, the Fire Dept of Lakewood is currently sitting on over 2 million dollars in surplus! That is enough for an entire years operating expense. This is in addition to expenditures on equipment and building stations that are not needed and overpriced. While the overall Fire tax is only about 2% of our tax bill, that is not a reason for money to be wasted. The lack of oversight and fiscal responsibility has become an overbearing problem that can no longer be ignored.
Askonim have therefore arranged that election times be extended to 10 pm to allow our oilam to have our votes count. Please vote this Motzai Shabbos for Larry Loigman and Juan Ortiz for Fire Commissioner. Elections are held at the fire house on the corner of James and Rt 9. There will be extra parking and voting booths available to handle the expected extra turnout during the Motzai Shabbos hours. Let us take advantage of this opportunity to finally bring fiscal sanity to the Fire Board of Commissioners.
Welcome back LAC………………..
Who is LAC ?
I do not believe this is from the LAC. I believe it’s from selected people in town.
Same way the BOE vote was not moved to November.
Thank you lac. You have my vote
all I can say is SAD ! Politics rears its ugly head !
I was censored again. I guess I can’t have my feeling published on the Lakewood Scoop.
whats the LAC?
Where does (moderated) stand on this.
I think I will start a new committee. I’ll call it PQR. Don’t ask me what it stands for because i didn’t decide yet.
Vote Lobello and Ortiz for fire commis.
LAC stands for saving taxpayers money!
LAC always takes a pricipiled stand.if they endorse Loigman and Oritz I will definitely change my vote to follow the lac. Vote LARRY AND JUAN!!!!
when Larry ran for the BOE the LAC did not support him. Now he wants to be a fire zcar. I would like to see him Attorney for the BOE.
Have the powers in town decide if it’s a time for change
Where does Larry live, Ocean Twp or lakewood Twp?
What are their qualifications to be Fire Commissioner? I am all in favor of budget cuts… I just want them to be done by someone who at least held a hose in their hands before. Do these candidates know what is required for “our” safety? Would you appoint a lawyer to be the Rav of your Shul because he can reduce the budget?
larry lives in lakewood. Vince lives in toms river
WHo are these ASKONIM why are they afraid to put their name out there????
Larry lives in lakewood. Vince lives in Toms River
I am a volunteer Fire Fighter with Engine Company # 1 for a number of years. Tomorrow a man named Lary Loigman is trying to replace a firefighter of 30 years on the Board of Fire Commissioners. He has no Previous Firefighting Experience & does not know what it takes to fight fires. His agenda is to Lower Taxes that are already lower than any other town in our area (average household pays an approximated
$160 yearly) (moderated) I ask you to Please come out & support me and My fellow Brothers by voting YES on the decreased budget & voting for Vincent Lombelo & Juan Ortiz 2 very experienced firefighters tomorrow.
Thank You For your Support

As leaders(?) it is important to make sure your statemets are written properly. In this instance the proper spelling is rein not reign.
