[COMMUNICATED] Recovery at the Crossroads (RAC) and Overcome, the leading kosher addiction treatment facilities in New Jersey, are hosting “The Power of Hope: An evening of information and discussion on Community and Spiritual Connection” at 7 pm on Oct 24 at Circa Restaurant in Lakewood. The event is being held in collaboration with Caron Treatment Centers and Chabad Center Berks County.
Rabbi Ephraim Epstein from RAC & The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and Rabbi Yosef Lipsker from Caron Treatment Centers & Chabad Center of Berks County will provide information on finding support and treatment when a loved one is struggling with addiction. Many in the Jewish community don’t feel comfortable talking about addiction or their need for help with substance abuse. Unfortunately, statistics have shown an increase in the number of Jewish people who are struggling with addiction or from mental health disorders that can cause Dual Diagnosis. For many Jews suffering from substance use, going to a nonobservant rehabilitation treatment center program may not be an option.
Michael DiMarco, the Director of Business Development for the Crossroads Companies elaborates on the Kosher Recovery track at Recovery at the Crossroads and Overcome: “This disease of addiction doesn’t discriminate; its unfortunate reach is all too deadly. We hope to speak to the problem and the solution. The Crossroads Companies have been offering mental health and substance use disorder services for close to twenty years. We offer a culturally competent program that assists all populations. Our owners are residents of the local community and want to help. Now we can offer treatment to the Jewish community here in Lakewood.”
David Rotenberg, Chief Clinical Officer at Caron Treatment Centers in Wernersville, PA elaborates on Caron’s efforts to provide the best treatment to the Jewish community: “Caron is a historical treatment center, its clinical reputation best in class. For the past twenty years, Rabbi Lipsker and I have worked tirelessly to make the Jewish community feel safe and understood in our culturally competent treatment settings in Pennsylvania and in Florida. Jews of every level of religion, from ultra-Orthodox to Reform, can find a safe, nurturing inpatient environment which considers their needs as they enter and engage in the treatment process. Establishing trust, understanding cultural differences, embracing specific dietary needs…all are critical elements for families to consider when choosing a treatment center for their loved ones. We take a huge amount of pride in our efforts to treat and support Jewish patients and their families”.
Caron has helped thousands of individuals struggling with substance use disorder manage this chronic, treatable disease for nearly 70 years in Pennsylvania and New York, among other locations. Maggie Giovanni, Caron’s Regional Resource Director in New Jersey, helps families, communities, and professionals with the appropriate care they are seeking, whether an individual needs an inpatient or an outpatient setting. She says, “Our goal is to help find the right level of treatment confidentially. We are so fortunate to have Rabbi Lipsker provide counsel to patients and families prior to and through the course of inpatient treatment.”
The Crossroads Companies and Caron both offer trauma-informed and comprehensive substance abuse treatment services with an emphasis on family involvement. At RAC and Overcome, we observe Yom Tov and Shabbos and offer Shabbat meals. Our Kosher Recovery programs are endorsed by Rabbi Eliyahu Brudny and Rabbi Avrohom Spitzer.
At RAC and Overcome, we believe that a healthy diet plan is critical in helping you consume the vital nutrients you need to boost your health after struggling with addiction. Eating healthy, kosher foods is a great way to build up your body and its immune system, since you may currently struggle with malnutrition as a result of addiction. All meals are Glatt Kosher and we have a fully stocked kashrut kitchen.
Alex Kushnir, CFO of The Crossroads Companies, invites those who need help to reach out and begin the path to recovery: “We are able to work with most insurances to support the path of recovery.”
We invite you to save your seat at the event on Oct 24. Registration is free and a light dinner will be provided. To register, please click here. For questions or more information, please reach out to Maggie Giovanni at [email protected] or [email protected].
