  1. You also want it to be cheap? How long do you think they will be able to stay in business? If you looking for cheap, call any restaurant in lakewood and have them deliver you some food. The delivery change will be way less than the prices that you will pay in the park.

  2. the park usually regulates the prices and the individual vendor has no say about it so would be “normal” for a hotdog to be $5 for example

  3. To Alte Lakewooder. Let me understand this. You blog on the Internet and Great Adventure is the thing that is Treif…. Interesting.

  4. It’s amazing, it took almost 40 years to bring kosher food to this wonderful amusement park so close to home. I think the park should open up more eateries that offer food from around the world, it would be nice to try and experience some different types of food.

  5. Years ago the park had kosher food & did away with it. This may or may not last. Much better to park close in preferred parking (extra charge) & pack your own. Pack extra drinks. Small bottled wTer is $4.25 in park.

  7. They have had this stand at 6 flags all season. I guess they decided to advertise it now and add a minyan. We have eaten there. The food was good and fresh and the service was excellent. FYI we have been going to 6 flags for years and they do not allow outside food even if you say you need kosher. They only allow food for babys.

  8. I like how these lakewooders are putting a hechseher on a park fulled with pritzus just because it “has kosher food” a Chazer also sticks out its split hooves.remmeber Achashverosh also served kosher food.Who says you are allowed to even go in such a place? pesach bain hazmanim maybe ..before the summer begins. but now?? i dont get why this is on Lakewood Ihr Htorah Scoop.

  9. To #25 Well said!
To #17 (“To Alte Lakewooder. Let me understand this. You blog on the Internet and Great Adventure is the thing that is Treif…. Interesting”)
It could very well be that “Alte Lakewooder” is using a filtered internet connection as I’m sure most of the people commenting on this website are… not to say that Blogging is the ideal way to spend your time… But Great adventures in the summer… it’s pretty bad check with your local Rabbi.

  10. Whatever you see in six flags is no worse than in any mall or even just walking down the street. Please stop trying to rip away any ounce of fun yidden want to have.

The difference between the mall, the streets and GE is the the former don’t exist and aren’t visited solely for recreational purposes whereas GE is.Before you start saying thing are “nuts” please make an effort to understand them.

For the record one of the major Poskim in Lakewood once told me that he doesn’t approve of going to malls in the summer or near the Chaga but to avoid being lynched he would never say so publicly

  12. o.k “thats nuts’ dont tell me that walking down forest is the same as six flags.besides who says you can walk in a mall today?my wife is stunned when she sees “bochrim”coming out of designer stores with “designer bags” as they walk past advertisments of inappropriate pictures and stores.why are they there/ Let them go to syms or a place like that if they really need designer brands and the Hat Box is not good enough!

  13. I came across this page 2 years after the original comments were posted when I googled “kosher great adventure” and I have to say, everything on here is what is wrong with our people today. It all starts with useful information about kosdher food and a minyan – I dont think anyone should have a problem with either of those things, but that’s where the sanity ends.

To those taking the position that going to GA is wrong – fine, point taken. If someone wants to go, let G-d judge him, not you.

To those upset about people commenting that one shouldn’t go because of preitzus, et al – if they one is confident in their own avodas Hashem and being honest with themselves about it, going to a place like GA is a personal decision that you need not justify to anyone else.

I go there, and to similar places, every year. My kids have a great time and that is what matters to me. I would not feel the need to get defensive if someone questions me, and I certainly wouldn’t respond in kind by telling them “well, you shouldnt be on the internet” or the like.

Let’s all please worry about our own bein adam l’chaveiro more than we worry about everyone elses bein adam l’Makom.

  14. Thanks frum johny. I was waiting for someone to say that. Ur synopsis was like fresh music to my ears. What you said is real da’as torah. No one should comment (and certainly) publicly that what others are doing wrong. We shouldn’t judge one another. I’m sure whoever goes (me included) have reliable da’as torah to be somaich on.
