Kol Shimshon Offers 30 Minyanim for Mincha Erev Shabbos Chanukah; Crossing Guard

kol shimshonThe short Winter Fridays are generally filled with people rushing to many different places getting ready for Shabbos – but even more so on Erev Shabbos Chanukah, as many people are looking to daven Mincha earlier in the day.

To help the issue, Bais Medrash Kol Shimshon, located at Squankum corner E. 11th Street, has arranged to have 30 Minyanim this Friday.

The first Minyan will be at 12:15 PM, and until 1 PM there will be a Minyan every 5 minutes.
From 1 PM until 4:10 PM, there will be a Minyan every 10 minutes.
The last Minyan will be at 4:19 PM.

Being on an arterial road leading out of town makes it convenient for many people to stop off at Kol Shimshon and “Chapping” a Mincha before leaving. However, there are also many more people converging at the Shul at the same time, making it for an extremely busy location which would potentially pose very problematic driving conditions.

Aware of these facts, the Hanhala of Kol Shimshon reached out to local Askonim, who have arranged to have a crossing guard stationed in the area on Friday from 12 Noon to 3 PM. [TLS]

  1. It’s a tremendous Kiddush HaShem and a Huge Chesed for the Tzibbur! May HaShem Repay all those who are involved in the continuity of such a special Mokom!

  2. There is VERY LIMITED parkiing available in the area of Kol Shimshon and Lawrence Avenue. To save yourselves aggravation and time, park a block or two away so you don’t get caught in the traffic snarls and spend precious time waiting for parking. Ideas: Shafto; off of Shafto on 12th and 13th; Princeton Ave,. It may SEEM like you’ll save time by trying to park closer, but trust me, you’ll save much more time that way.

  3. AT this time I take the oppurtunity to BEG all the fellow worshipers DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAYS!!! I CANT TELL YOU HOW FRUSTRATING IT IS TO PULL IN AND OUT WHEN MY DRIVE WAY IS BLOCKED!!! EVEn if you leave your wife in the drivers seat!! IT IS A SERIOUS BREECH IN GEZEILA AND HAS BEEN FRUSTRATIING THE SQUANKUM NEIGHBORS FOR TOO LONG! may all your tefillos be mekabel in a kosher and yashrus manner
