The short Winter Fridays are generally filled with people rushing to many different places getting ready for Shabbos – but even more so on Erev Shabbos Chanukah, as many people are looking to daven Mincha earlier in the day.
To help the issue, Bais Medrash Kol Shimshon, located at Squankum corner E. 11th Street, has arranged to have 30 Minyanim this Friday.
The first Minyan will be at 12:15 PM, and until 1 PM there will be a Minyan every 5 minutes.
From 1 PM until 4:10 PM, there will be a Minyan every 10 minutes.
The last Minyan will be at 4:19 PM.
Being on an arterial road leading out of town makes it convenient for many people to stop off at Kol Shimshon and “Chapping” a Mincha before leaving. However, there are also many more people converging at the Shul at the same time, making it for an extremely busy location which would potentially pose very problematic driving conditions.
Aware of these facts, the Hanhala of Kol Shimshon reached out to local Askonim, who have arranged to have a crossing guard stationed in the area on Friday from 12 Noon to 3 PM. [TLS]
