Knocked-Down Brush Fire In Lakewood, Can Smolder For Days

vermont forest fireIt may be days until the smoke odor from Wednesday’s brush fire disappears, an Official tells TLS. The brush fire which burnt several acres of wooded area off of Chestnut Street, took almost all of Wednesday to fully bring under control. Despite the thousands of gallons of water dumped on the area, due to the thick layers of leaves, branches and shrubs however, it can still smolder for days-until we get some rain-the Official says.

“And who knows when that will happen” he says.
