buildings & social programs are to blame, and not slum-lords? are you kidding me?
THATS LIKE SAYING SPOONS, FORKS, AND KNIVES MAKE PEOPLE FAT!

no buddy, landlords the ones who CHOOSE to sign up to section8! landlords are also the ones to rent to illegals, criminals, gang-members, convicts, etc.

PS: “ILLEGALS” SHOULD NOT BE COMBINED IN YOUR “IMMIGRATION FAMILIES” STATEMENT. I am an immigrant, and came here LEGALLY, and became a citizen. dont you dare combine me into the same chapter as a bunch of disrespectful criminals.

and another thing to #1

all those communities USED to be nice. thats is before the gang-members, drug dealers, crack-heads, illegals, and convicts moved in. AND WHO IS TO BLAME FOR ALLOWED THE DIRT-BAGS TO MOVE IN? THE INDIVIDUAL LANDLORDS WHO CHOSE TO RENT THEIR UNITS OUT TO SUCH LOW LIVES. You are a typical Democrat = blaming inadament objects for the horrible choices of bad people.

instead of blaming people for their poor choices, you blame the housing complexes, government, and often guns. typical.

This is a story for Animal Planet – why is this a story on TLC?

even though the story is about a kitten, the important part is that it was shot. another example of senseless crimes ( and yes, it is considered a crime). it is an established fact that people who torture or kill animals move up the ranks and start going for bigger game, ie; humans. THAT is the growing concern.

To #2 how can you say something like that, animal’s are some ones pet that is part of their family, I myself love animals, I have a dog and he is such a huge part of my family, I can’t imagine not having him. what should matter is their is someone who does not care about living things, nobody should be shot people or animal. I hope the LPD find this person and he get’s what he deserves.

Why does this merit an article, Masmid? Because it is a manifestation of violence and senseless cruelty. A person who shoots an innocent kitten is surely doing, or will do, much worse. Also, anytime one shoots a gun in a residential area, one puts HUMANS at risk. The odds are also high that this gun is illegally owned. Get off your high horse nd be like Aharon Hacohen, about whom it says, “Oheiv es habrios.” He loved the creations, all creations, of Hashem.

Mr. Conservative:

I am as conservative as you are (and perhaps more) in my political views.

That said, I find one of your comments quite interesting. You write that that the gangs are the problem, and that these gangs are fairly recent, brought to Lakewood by slumlords. I am asking this question based on ignorance. Before the slumlords arrived (in the last 10-15 years), there were no gangs in Lakewood? There was no violence? My mother told me that when she used to come to Lakewood for vacations 50 years ago, it was dangerous to walk past Clifton Ave. There were race riots here in Lakewood. Lexington-Monmouth-traintracks-areas were a no-go. Ridge area – fugghedaboudit.

If anything, it seems that Lakewood has improved alot from those years.

So please explain your view. Thanks.

To # 17. Yes there have been “problems” in Lakewood over the years. There are also the same problems in Newark, LA, Miami, Brooklyn. Detroit, and on and on. BUT, the situation here vastly changed between 10 and 15 years ago. Think about the changes at that time and since.

To number #19 yes there are problems in lakewood but it was much nicer years ago. If you rent without checking on people then you get what you get. If I owned a building and rented it out I would check on the people not just the money from the state. Plus this is not LA or newark or Miami. There are beautiful homes in all of these places, you could not afford Miami…..You have let in all kinds when you choose to rent out….As far as hurting a little animal, its terrible. No one and nothing should be shot. What you do to someone should be done to you….
