This speed limit board on Sims Avenue in Lakewood appears to have been altered by kids thinking it’s a funny prank.
However, aside from the danger involved, this could have legal ramifications for those caught speeding – especially if the speed is a factor in a resulting accident.
Police have been notified about this issue.

Yup i was driving down at 25 mph and suddenly saw that sign, without hesitation i slammed the pedal to the medal and reached 67 mph in about 7 seconds sending garbages flying and smashing through cozy coupes… wow that was a tough task that the lakewood police have put me through especially with all those little kids walking around… i dont plan on dropping off my kid to his playgroup on that block too quick, the adrenalin is too much for me! maybe I’ll start biking him over instead and get a cool breeze with every car passing by… come to think of it, this is probably dangerous, one may not see the sudden speed change and be going to slow for the guy behind him… Better tell the mayor on askthemayor@lakewoodscoop.com!
three do not greet the Shechina …. “and the scoffer”.
Commentaries have described Scoffers as those who laugh at others and shame them. I don’t see that in the comment that you are commenting on. But your comment might fit the definition.
Comments here are a Chilul Hashem. Not only Jews read the So Called Scoop.
Comments CAN be the way you described them, but comments can also be humorous and NOT be that way. Sometimes the comments are actually making a point via the sarcasm and humor.
i agreee with the retzay 100% its acually crazy because people can totally be going too slow and not realize that its a stupid joke and everybody please just get a life and stop being such a anti semite and making stupid articles just for click bait how about you try reporting something that people care about or just something positive. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER
Not 67 again😂
6/7 is still rocking!! you cant say the two numbers without 20 kids sssiiixxxx ssseeeevvvveeennn
I remember the 67 Dira in EY oh what a great place!!
Each day something else. One day it said 1 MPH. Oh boy did it take me a long time to get home that day.
lol
Obviously very dangerous issue, but a side point, kids in that very choshuv yeshivesh neighborhood knowing about TikTok trends also very concerning…….
maybe they were mechavin to the trend… chances are..
That IS the point.
I love how the scoop slipped this in and was like “IYKYK” I don’t think many people here even understand the significance which is nice but as a side point…..your kids do chop. We said that our parents were clueless and we would never be like that but this is a great litmus test. If you think that the sign is dangerous and that kids shouldn’t play around, show this to your kid. see what his/her reaction would be? they may just lift their hands palms up and go up and down and say…..
Being hit by a car is not funny.
maskim! I dont think anyone will disagree with you! so if your going into standup try to avoid getting hit by cars…
You cantry to go as fast as possible to make the lights start flashing
Lock up the speed limit signs or remove them from the “cart” and sanction those who don’t. This city is a negligent mess. Oh I forgot it’s the “county or the state”.
The one thing that everyone here is missing is that different types of roads have default speed limits which you should know from when you took the drivers test. Residential zones are usually 25mph, Business zones are usually 35mph and so on. If it wasn’t for people around here thinking that laws don’t apply to them then that sign would never have needed to be placed there.
Why is it so low?
If someone can please explain to me why anyone would even take that seriously??? I understand if it was changed to 35 or 40, but 67 is just an unrealistic number, both because it doesn’t end in 5 or 0 and because no one in their right mind would even be able to get up to that speed on that block. I think it’s time you kranks relax and get a laugh out of it before continuing on your merry way.
