PHOTOS: K-9 Units from Monmouth and Ocean County yesterday conducted a search for drugs at the Lakewood High School. The dogs turned out empty handed. Police say the search was conducted in an effort to keep a safe environment at the school.
The search, which took place at about 5:00 PM, was also joined by several Detectives and Captains from the Police Department. TLS.
They didn’t do it while there was anyone in the building…
then there must have been someone in the building???
when was this search done , morning, midday, afternoon…? from the look of the sun setting no one was there….
Well #2, the story does tell you around 5pm, so that would account for the sun setting. Doing it when the kids are gone is defeating the purpose, no one with half a baked brain is going to leave their drugs overnight in school. It was a silly move on the Departments that did the search. Now the kids also have a heads up on the situation and will be more dilligent about how they carry, for the ones that do. Not all the kids in Lakewood do drugs. My kids went to lakewood public schools from K thru 10th grade and they are not drug users and neither are the friends they have from lakewood.
lakewood needs k9s
no one there, no drugs!
Try this in Brick or Howell or Toms River and see what the parents would say or do.
THE JANITORS ARE ARE LUCKY THAT THEY’RE CLEAN!!
You’d be surprised how much drugs would turn up in those schools if it was done there. Those schools are no better they just hide it better. I had friends that went to brick that said kids would be shooting up in the bathroom. Friends in TR that said kids were doing coke and herion on lunch break. They should do this in every school a few times a year, maybe it would keep the drug dealers from bringing the drugs in not knowing when there will be a surprise drug raid with the k-9’s.
Drugs are everywhere and in every school …..public and private schools. It is a disease that is devouring our nation and it starts with the young. Drug dealers know that by getting young people addicted they will have a long and profitable future. Dogs should be present in EVERY school and public place….without exception and without prejudice. Our nation is so “free” we are killing our very way of life. Sad….very sad.
to #4 your response should have been directed to # 3.
i was responding to #1`s confusing answer.
maybe it is about time we use the state officials as the K-9’s.
You mean the dogs turned up “empty pawed” don’t you?
At the last BOE meeting both students and teachers said the smell of pot is obvious to everyone. I guess this is the reason why a K9 raid.
My question, it’s February, school started in September- what took so long.
You need to ask yourself, is the Lakewood school district going backwards or forward. Are the children learning more or are we playing chess with the childrens education.
