JUST IN: Two Ocean County officers had to be rescued from the water this afternoon when they went in to save a swimmer in distress, TLS has learned.
The Sheriff’s office in response issued the following alert: “STAY OUT OF THE WATER! There are no lifeguards on duty at this time. Shore areas are experiencing high swells and strong rip currents. Please do not swim in any area that is not protected by life guards. We continue to get calls for swimmers in distress along the Jersey Shore.”
No injuries are being reported.
